I
n order to expand learning horizons and to prepare students for a future of intercultural exchanges, Thammasat University recognizes the need to introduce students to an international perspective in all disciplines. Active exchange opportunities now exist within 5 of the international degree programs as well as to the student body at large. These exchanges encourage students to spend a semester or year abroad at well-known partner universities around the world. At the same time, students from these institutions come to Thammasat University to gain an experience living and learning in Thailand.

The OIA will distribute information about such study abroad opportunities through flyers, website postings and in the International Office. Students within the international programs will be selected by their own offices. Typical requirements requested are a GPA of at least 2.8 - 3.0, a good TOEFL score and ability to financially support oneself abroad. With good planning students are often able to bring back credits earned while abroad. The process is competitive and selection interviews can be expected.

Students interested in going on an exchange or study abroad should begin planning very early in their four year career at Thammasat, preferably applying a year before leaving. The best time to go abroad is within the third academic year. Plan ahead!
